What age is it for? I would use ribbon through the entredeax, would probably be hard to match the grey/green so you would be better to use the silver/grey. You could add some tiny bullion roses in the smocking or on the bodice to ‘carry on’ the theme. Do you use a full front bodice lining? When I make a christening gown I usually make the lining the full length of the bodice and smocking. I usually edge it in narrow lace but don’t stitch it to the smocking. I find it supports the weight a lot more. Some georgettes can be quite heavy! Love to see the finished dress.

Hello Gail, Mathilda is 5, I made this dress in a size 6. The bodice is fully lined, as well as interfaced, the fabric is just a bit too heavy, but it drapes, and swirls, so we’ll.
I can’t do bullion roses, that particular skill continues to elude me, I might try it for my next smocked project though. The finished dress will be coming soon.
