Following on from my previous post about the ruffle fabric dress, here are the leggings that she was wearing with it:
They are also made from fabric that I got from rufflefabric.com, but this is their lace fabric. It is fabulously soft to touch, and very pretty, but I do think it looks like its backwards or something. Some of the bands look (to me anyway) like the wrong side should be the other way around. Maybe not, maybe its just me. But anyway, it works really well for these leggings.
The lace fabric is a creamy ivory colour. I used a light blue knit that I already had to line it. These leggings are just the one pattern piece kind. I cut two, in reverse, of each of the lace and the blue. I did a quick small hem on the blue, then stitched each lace piece to a lining piece, which I was then able to treat as one piece together to do the construction.
It was quite easy to match up the stripes with these fabric, its really easy to work with. I just did a simple elastic waist.
And, once again, because its a ruffle fabric, it doesn’t need to be hemmed. So, another quick and easy project. Mathilda loves them.
